The Department of State is responsible for fostering cultural, political, and economic relations between Puerto Rico and foreign countries. It is the public policy of Puerto Rico to foster the economic development of the country by strengthening relations with the governmental structures of the international community. The Department of State aims to create economic opportunities abroad that promote local trade by strengthening ties with foreign trade so that we can promote the economic development of the Island. That is why the Department has taken on the task of sharing information on how to do business abroad, and in Puerto Rico, for any company or individual who wants to take their products or services abroad and to Puerto Rico. The purpose is to facilitate the search for basic information prior to the export process.
